一词千金 (YiCiQianJin) is an English vocabulary learning app that helps you build your vocabulary one word at a time. If you need help, please check the information below.

Getting Started

  1. Launch the App and select a word book that matches your level (elementary, middle school, high school, CET-4, CET-6, graduate entrance exam, IELTS, or TOEFL)
  2. Each day you will learn a new word with its spelling, phonetic notation, and Chinese meaning
  3. The next day, complete a quiz to review yesterday’s word before unlocking today’s new word
  4. Track your study streak on the check-in calendar

How do I change my word book?

Go to the word book selection screen and choose a different book. Your progress in the current book will be saved.

Why can I only learn one word per day?

The “one word per day” approach is designed to help you focus and retain vocabulary through daily repetition. If you want to learn unlimited words per day, upgrade to Pro membership.

What are the quiz types?

There are three quiz types that appear randomly each day:

  • Fill in the letters — complete the missing letters of the word
  • Choose the meaning — select the correct Chinese meaning from multiple choices
  • Spell the word — type the full spelling of the word from memory

Do I have to pass the quiz to learn a new word?

In the free version, yes — you must pass the daily quiz to unlock the next word. Pro members can skip the quiz requirement and learn new words freely.

What does Pro membership include?

Pro membership unlocks:

  • Unlimited daily word learning (no one-word-per-day limit)
  • No quiz requirement to unlock new words

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Open the App, go to the Pro membership page, and tap “Restore Purchases”. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Is my data synced across devices?

No. All study data is stored locally on your device. If you switch to a new device, your progress will not transfer.

How do I reset my progress?

Uninstalling and reinstalling the App will clear all local data, including study records and preferences.
