Welcome to Drift

Drift is a photo and video browser for macOS 14 or later. Browse a folder or the Photos library one item at a time, revisit a day, and mark unwanted items for a separate review before deleting.

Getting started

Open Drift and select Open a Folder, or Photos Library.
Choose Mixed, Photos or Videos; pick an order and group size.
Scroll up/down or use the arrow keys to browse.
If you want to tidy, turn on Tidy mode with D. Swipe left or press the left arrow/Delete key to mark an item. Nothing is deleted yet.
Open the basket or finish the group, review marked items, rescue any you want to keep, then confirm.

Browse orders

Seven orders are available: Random, Date Newest First, Date Oldest First, Size Largest First, Size Smallest First, Name A–Z and Name Z–A. Ordered groups skip viewed items until a new round starts.

Files use available file/capture dates. EXIF dates are refined and cached in the background, so first-scan ordering may initially use file timestamps. Photos library sizes are estimates based on available metadata; they are not exact byte sizes. Name ordering falls back to capture date when a library asset has no accessible filename.

Folders, external drives and SD cards

Choose a folder through the macOS picker to grant permission. Subfolders are included; hidden files and library/package bundles are skipped. Do not select the inside of a .photoslibrary package: use Photos Library instead.

If a recent folder no longer opens, pick it again. Ensure an external disk or SD card is mounted. First scanning, preview reading and sharpening large images depend on storage speed. The app shows available embedded previews before the full image and recognizes matching RAW + JPEG camera files as a combined item where supported.

Photos and iCloud permissions

Allow Drift in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. Check that the library you want is available as the system Photos library. Cloud-only assets require an internet connection and time to download. iCloud Drive access is granted by selecting the corresponding folder.

Deletion, recovery and backups

Marking is not deletion. Review the batch before confirming.
Folder files go to Trash where macOS and the selected volume support it. Recovery is through Finder Trash, not Drift’s undo after confirmation.
Photos library deletion uses Apple’s confirmation and Recently Deleted behavior.
iCloud deletions can synchronize to your other devices.
A combined RAW + JPEG or Live Photo item can include multiple files. Check carefully and back up valuable originals first.

App Store purchase and website licenses

Mac App Store edition: paid upfront, no subscription, no license key and no trial activation screen. Apple manages downloads, billing and updates. Reinstall from the Apple Account used to buy the app. For payment/refund questions, use Apple’s Report a Problem.

Separate website edition: seven-day trial and a one-time license for two personal Macs. Activation requires an internet connection. Use Drift → License to activate or deactivate a Mac. Find a lost key in your receipt or Lemon Squeezy My Orders. An App Store purchase is not automatically a website license, and vice versa.

History, favorites and privacy

Review history, favorites and statistics are stored locally. Drift favorites are local app markers, not a promise of synchronization to Finder tags or Apple Photos favorites. Resetting history does not remove your source photos. See the privacy policy for the differences between editions.

Drift version/build and macOS version;
source type (folder, SD card, iCloud Drive or Photos library);
file format, if relevant;
steps to reproduce, expected behavior and actual behavior;
an optional screenshot with personal information removed.

Do not send passwords, full license keys, card details or private media. We will ask for a safe, minimal diagnostic example if needed. No account sign-in is required for browsing.

开始使用

选择“打开文件夹”或“照片图库”。
配置照片 / 视频 / 混合、排序方式及每组数量。
上下滚动或使用方向键浏览。
整理时按 D 开启整理模式，左滑、← 或 Delete 标记；此时尚未删除。
点击待删篮或浏览完一组，在网格里复核、救回，再确认删除。

排序与浏览记录

支持随机、时间新到旧 / 旧到新、大小大到小 / 小到大、名称 A–Z / Z–A 共七种顺序。顺序浏览会跳过已看过的项目，全部看完后开启新一轮。

文件拍摄日期在后台从 EXIF 逐步补充并缓存，首次扫描可能先使用文件日期。图库文件大小基于可用元数据估算，不是真实字节数；无可用文件名的图库项目按名称排序时会退回按日期排序。

文件夹、SD 卡与外置盘

通过系统选择框重新选择文件夹以授予权限，子文件夹会一起扫描；隐藏文件、图库包等会跳过。请不要选择 .photoslibrary 包内部，系统图库应使用“照片图库”入口。

最近文件夹失效时重新选择；确认 SD 卡或外置盘已经挂载。首次扫描和大图变清晰仍受读卡速度影响，App 会优先显示可用的内嵌预览。支持的相机同名 RAW + JPEG 可组合为一个项目。

照片权限与 iCloud

在“系统设置 → 隐私与安全性 → 照片”允许 Drift 访问。确认目标图库作为系统“照片”图库可用。仅在云端的内容需要联网下载；iCloud Drive 通过选择相应文件夹授权。

删除、恢复与备份

标记不是删除，请在最终确认前核对。
本地文件在系统及磁盘支持时进入废纸篓；确认后的恢复通过访达废纸篓，不是 Drift 的 ⌘Z。
图库照片通过 Apple 确认并遵循“最近删除”规则。
iCloud 删除可能同步到其他设备。
RAW + JPEG、实况照片可能关联多个文件；重要原片请先备份。

购买方式

Mac App Store 版：付费下载，无订阅、无激活码，不需要试用激活。购买、退款及更新由 Apple 管理。请用原购买 Apple 账户重新下载；账单问题可前往 Apple 报告问题。

独立官网版：七天试用，买断授权供同一用户两台个人 Mac 同时使用。首次激活联网，在“Drift → 许可证”中激活或停用；激活码可从收据或 Lemon Squeezy 我的订单找回。两种渠道的购买不会自动互通。

本地记录与支持联系

浏览历史、收藏及统计保存在本机。Drift 收藏是 App 内本地标记，不代表已同步到 Finder 标签或系统“照片”收藏。重置历史不会删除原照片。隐私详情见隐私政策。
