Scope and developer

Drift is a macOS photo and video browser developed by Shanjie Han, distributed through the Mac App Store and, separately, through the Drift website. This policy distinguishes those editions because their purchase and update mechanisms differ.

Photos, videos and folder access

Drift accesses only folders you select and the Photos library access you grant through macOS. It reads media and relevant metadata to display, sort and group items, including capture or file dates, dimensions, duration and file sizes where available. The app uses Apple PhotoKit for your Photos library and iCloud Photos. iCloud downloads and synchronization are handled by Apple and your configured storage providers.

Drift does not upload your photos, videos, capture metadata, viewing history or favorites to a server operated by us. Processing and image preview generation happen on your Mac. Granting Photos access does not give us remote access to your library.

Local storage

The app stores preferences, recent-folder security-scoped bookmarks, review history, favorites, aggregate review/deletion statistics and cached capture dates locally. Image previews and the motion portion of Live Photos may be cached on your Mac to support playback. App Store builds do not create a Drift account, trial record or third-party license activation record.

Removing a recent folder or resetting review history in the app does not delete the source media. macOS manages the app container and Keychain independently; uninstalling the app does not necessarily erase every cache, preference or Keychain item.

Deletion and iCloud

Marking an item for deletion does not immediately remove it. After you review and confirm, folder files are moved to macOS Trash where supported. Photos library assets are deleted through Apple’s system confirmation flow and may be recoverable in Recently Deleted under Apple’s rules.

Changes to an iCloud Photos library or iCloud Drive folder may synchronize to other devices. A RAW + JPEG pair or a paired Live Photo may include more than one file. Back up important media and check the confirmation screen before deleting.

Mac App Store edition

The Mac App Store edition is a paid-upfront app with no subscription, third-party license activation, or third-party updater. Purchases and updates are managed by Apple. Drift does not receive your card details, Apple ID credentials or App Store purchase history for its browsing functions.

The App Store edition includes no advertising, third-party analytics, behavioral profiling or cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not collect data from the app for advertising or analytics. Photos accessed locally are not sent to us for storage or analysis.

Website edition only: trial, licensing and updates

The separate website edition offers a seven-day trial and a one-time license. Trial dates, license keys, license-instance identifiers and related entitlement information are stored locally, including in macOS Keychain. These entries may survive app reinstallation.

Online license activation and validation use Lemon Squeezy. Requests can include the license key, an activation-instance identifier, and the Mac’s name at first activation. The payment provider processes purchase email, billing information and payment data under its own terms; customer name or email returned by that provider can be displayed in the app’s license panel. We do not receive card numbers through the app. Deactivation contacts that service to release a device activation.

The website edition uses Sparkle for update checks. Update and download requests may expose standard connection information, such as IP address and request metadata, to the website host. These website-edition services are not part of the Mac App Store edition.

Support messages and websites

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, app/OS version and issue description. We use it to respond and troubleshoot. Please do not email private photos, passwords, full license keys or payment-card information unless there is a clear, agreed need for a particular non-sensitive diagnostic item. Support correspondence is separate from automatic in-app data collection.

This policy and support page are hosted on GitHub Pages. Visiting a website or following an external link causes ordinary web requests to its host; that is distinct from Drift uploading your photo library. External platforms apply their own policies.

Children, requests and changes

Drift is not a service directed specifically at children and does not add child-specific accounts, advertising or tracking. If you believe you have sent personal information in a support request that should be removed, contact us. We will respond as applicable law requires, subject to legal record-retention obligations.

We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The current policy and its revision date will remain on this page.

照片、视频与文件夹权限

Drift 仅访问你选择并授权的文件夹，以及你通过 macOS 授权的“照片”图库。为显示、排序和按日期归组，App 会读取媒体及相关元数据，例如拍摄或文件日期、尺寸、时长，以及可获得的文件大小。系统图库和 iCloud 照片通过 Apple PhotoKit 提供；云端下载与同步由 Apple 及你配置的存储服务处理。

Drift 不会把你的照片、视频、拍摄元数据、浏览历史或收藏上传到我们运营的服务器。 浏览处理和预览生成在 Mac 上进行。授予图库权限不会让开发者远程访问你的图库。

本地保存的内容

偏好设置、最近文件夹的安全作用域书签、回顾历史、收藏、回顾及删除统计、拍摄日期索引均保存在本机。为支持显示和播放，App 可能缓存图片预览或实况照片的动态部分。App Store 版不会创建 Drift 账号、试用记录或第三方激活记录。

移除最近文件夹或重置浏览记录不会删除原照片。App 容器与钥匙串由 macOS 分别管理；卸载 App 不一定会删除所有缓存、偏好设置或钥匙串条目。

删除与 iCloud 同步

“标记删除”不会立刻删除媒体。复核并确认后，本地文件在系统支持时移至 macOS 废纸篓；图库资产通过 Apple 系统确认流程删除，能否从“最近删除”恢复以 Apple 的规则为准。

iCloud 照片图库或 iCloud Drive 文件夹的删除可能同步到其他设备。 RAW + JPEG 或配对的实况照片可能包含多个文件。整理重要资料前请备份，并核对确认列表。

Mac App Store 版

Mac App Store 版采用付费下载，无订阅、无第三方激活码、无第三方应用更新器。购买和更新由 Apple 管理。Drift 的浏览功能不会接收你的银行卡信息、Apple ID 凭据或 App Store 购买历史。

App Store 版不包含广告、第三方分析、行为画像或跨 App 跟踪 SDK；我们不会为了广告或分析自动收集 App 数据。本地访问照片不代表把照片提交给开发者存储或分析。

仅官网版：试用、授权与更新

独立的官网版提供七天试用及买断授权。试用日期、激活码、设备实例标识和相关授权状态保存在本机，包括 macOS 钥匙串；重新安装后部分记录仍可能保留。

联网激活与授权校验通过 Lemon Squeezy 进行，可能发送激活码、激活实例 ID，以及首次激活时的 Mac 名称。付款平台按其规则处理购买邮箱、账单与付款资料；平台返回的客户姓名或邮箱可能显示在 App 许可证页面。App 不接收银行卡号。停用本机需要联系授权服务以释放激活名额。

官网版使用 Sparkle 检查更新。下载与更新请求可能向网站托管服务暴露 IP 地址和请求元数据等连接信息。以上官网版服务不属于 Mac App Store 版。

支持邮件与网页访问

如果你联系支持，我们会收到你主动发送的邮箱、App/系统版本、问题描述等信息，仅用于回复和排查。请不要主动发送私人照片、密码、完整激活码或银行卡资料。支持邮件与 App 自动采集属于不同场景。

本隐私政策与支持页托管在 GitHub Pages。访问网页和外部链接会向相应网站发起普通网络请求，这不等于 Drift 上传了你的照片库；外部平台适用各自的政策。

儿童、数据请求与政策变更

Drift 并非专门面向儿童的服务，不设置儿童专属账号、广告或跟踪。如果你在支持邮件中提供了希望删除的个人信息，可以联系上述邮箱；我们会依据适用法律处理，并遵守必要的法定记录保留义务。

政策随产品及服务变化更新，最新版本和修订日期会保留在本页面。
