Calio Support
Calio: Scientific Calculator brings mathematics, physics and chemistry calculations to iPhone and iPad. Calculations work offline, with no account or ads.
For help, bug reports or feature requests, email hantmac@outlook.com. Support is provided by the developer, Shanjie Han. You do not need to register an account to contact us.
Getting started
- Enter an expression on the calculator and tap =. Tap the expression to move the cursor, select text or paste an expression.
- Choose DEG or RAD before evaluating trigonometric expressions. Use 2nd for secondary functions.
- Open the scientific tools to access physics, molar mass, solution preparation, dilution, linear and quadratic equations, and function graphs.
- Open calculation history to insert a saved result or restore a supported calculation’s parameters. Read the confirmation before replacing your current input.
- Open display and input settings to choose English, Simplified Chinese or the system language, and graphite, silver or system appearance.
Available tools and important limits
- Scientific calculation: powers, roots, logarithms, trigonometry, factorials, combinations, permutations and unit-aware arithmetic. Exact fractions and radicals are available within supported limits; unsupported or out-of-range exact operations may return a numerical approximation.
- Physics: 15 unit-aware templates for motion, force and energy, electricity, waves and period. Each solves a fixed target under its stated model assumptions.
- Chemistry: molar mass for supported chemical formulas, including parentheses, subscripts and hydrates; solution preparation and stock-solution dilution. Check the chemical form, purity, units and final volume before use.
- Equations: real solutions of linear and quadratic equations, not a general symbolic algebra system or a complex-number solver.
- Graphs: a single function y = f(x), with adjustable viewing ranges and point values. Graphs use finite sampling and may miss discontinuities, narrow peaks or rapid oscillations.
Calio is a calculation aid, not a substitute for laboratory safety procedures or professional verification. Independently check models, units, reagent specifications and results before consequential use.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account is required. Calculation features work offline. Opening this support website, sending email, or downloading App Store updates requires the relevant network connection. Calio does not provide its own cloud synchronization.
Which devices are supported?
The current App requires iOS / iPadOS 26 or later. It supports iPhone in portrait orientation and iPad in portrait and landscape. Check the App Store listing for the compatibility requirements of the version available to you.
Why is a trigonometric answer different from what I expected?
Check DEG / RAD. For example, sin(30) in DEG mode is approximately 0.5; the same input in RAD mode uses 30 radians. Also check parentheses and whether multiplication is explicit.
How do I enter scientific notation or a two-argument function?
Use EXP for scientific notation, for example 6.02e23. Separate function arguments with a comma, for example root(3,8) or comb(5,2). The mathematical-functions help provides a comma insertion button; you can also paste an expression or use a hardware keyboard.
Why does a calculation with units fail?
Addition and subtraction require compatible dimensions. For example, 5 cm + 2 m is valid, but adding a mass to a length is not. 5 cm^2 means five square centimetres; (5 cm)^2 squares the entire quantity. Converting between mass concentration and molar concentration requires the reagent’s molar mass.
How should I enter a hydrate or calculate a dilution?
Use a middle dot for hydrates, such as CuSO4·5H2O; a period is not interpreted as a hydrate separator. The dilution tool uses C₁V₁ = C₂V₂ and assumes conservation of solute without reaction. The entered volume is the final volume. Prepare the solution to that final volume; the displayed diluent estimate assumes additive volumes. A target concentration above the stock concentration cannot be achieved by dilution.
Where are my calculations saved?
Up to 200 completed calculation records are kept in the App’s local storage. Saved tool records can include parameters needed for restoration. New records beyond the limit replace older ones. Appearance and language choices are also saved locally. Calculator memory and unfinished drafts are not saved across App restarts. Device backups may include local App data according to Apple’s settings.
How can I remove my local data?
Use Delete App, not Offload App, in your device’s storage settings to remove the App and its local data. This is destructive: local history may be lost. Copies in device backups must be managed separately. We cannot access or delete your local history remotely. See the Privacy Policy for details.
History could not be read or saved. What should I do?
Keep any important current result before closing the App. If a Retry Save action appears, try it and check that your device has available storage. If records cannot be read, the App preserves the existing file rather than automatically overwriting it. Contact support with the displayed error. Do not delete or reinstall the App as an initial troubleshooting step, because doing so may remove your history.
The App is not working as expected. What should I send?
If possible, reproduce the issue with a non-sensitive example and email:
- The App version/build, if available, and your device model and iOS / iPadOS version.
- The tool used, input expression or parameters, units and DEG / RAD mode.
- Steps to reproduce, expected result and actual result or error.
- An optional screenshot with personal or confidential information removed.
Please do not send passwords, payment details, confidential research data or sensitive calculation history. We do not automatically receive your calculation records; only include the information you choose to share.

功能与重要限制
- 科学计算： 幂、根式、对数、三角函数、阶乘、组合、排列及带单位运算。精确分数与根式有支持范围，超出范围或不支持的精确运算可能返回数值近似。
- 物理： 15 个带单位模板，涵盖运动、力与能量、电学、波动和周期。各模板在所列模型假设下求解固定目标。
- 化学： 支持的化学式摩尔质量，包括括号、下标和水合物；溶液配制与母液稀释。使用前核对化学形式、纯度、单位和最终体积。
- 方程： 求一次、二次方程的实数解，不是通用符号代数系统，也不提供复数求解。
- 绘图： 单条 y = f(x) 函数，支持调整视窗和查看点值。采用有限采样，可能遗漏不连续点、窄峰或快速振荡。
Calio 是计算辅助工具，不能代替实验安全规程或专业复核。用于有实际后果的操作前，请独立核对模型、单位、试剂规格和结果。
常见问题
需要账号或联网吗？
不需要账号，计算功能可离线使用。打开支持网站、发送邮件和下载 App Store 更新需要相应网络连接。Calio 不提供自行实现的云同步。
支持哪些设备？
当前应用需要 iOS / iPadOS 26 或更高版本，支持 iPhone 竖屏和 iPad 横竖屏。具体可下载版本的兼容要求以 App Store 页面为准。
为什么三角函数结果与预期不同？
先检查 DEG / RAD。例如，DEG 下的 sin(30) 约为 0.5；RAD 下相同输入代表 30 弧度。也请检查括号以及乘法是否使用显式乘号。
如何输入科学计数法或双参数函数？
用 EXP 输入科学计数法，例如 6.02e23。函数参数用逗号分隔，例如 root(3,8) 或 comb(5,2)。“数学函数”帮助提供参数分隔符插入按钮，也可以粘贴表达式或使用硬件键盘输入。

计算记录保存在哪里？
最多 200 条已完成计算记录保存在应用本地存储中。工具记录可包含恢复计算所需参数；超出上限时，新记录替换较旧记录。外观与语言选择也保存在本地。存储器和未完成草稿不跨应用重启保存。根据 Apple 设置，设备备份可能包含应用本地数据。
如何移除本地数据？
在设备存储设置中选择 “删除 App”，而不是保留数据的 “卸载 App”（Offload App），可移除应用及本机数据。这是破坏性操作，本地历史可能丢失。设备备份中的副本需要单独管理。我们无法远程查看或删除你的本地记录，详见隐私政策。
记录无法读取或保存，怎么办？
关闭应用前先保留重要的当前结果。如果显示“重试保存”，可以尝试重试并检查设备可用存储空间。无法读取记录时，应用会保留原文件，不会自动覆盖。请把显示的错误反馈给支持。不要把删除或重装应用作为首要排障步骤，以免丢失计算记录。

请尽量使用不涉及敏感信息的示例复现，并通过邮件提供：
- 应用版本和构建号（如可获得）、设备型号及 iOS / iPadOS 版本。
- 使用的工具、表达式或参数、单位及 DEG / RAD 模式。

- 可选截图，请先移除个人或保密信息。
