Overview

AnySearch (“the App”) is a file search utility for macOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information.

The App operates entirely on your local device. No data is transmitted to external servers, and no analytics or tracking SDKs are used.

Local Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

  • File Index Database: The App creates a local SQLite database containing file metadata (file names, paths, sizes, and modification dates) from your home directory. This database is stored in the App’s sandboxed container. No file contents are read or stored.
  • Search Count: The App stores a count of searches performed, used to manage the free trial limit. This is stored in local UserDefaults.
  • Preferences: User preferences (such as excluded directories and display settings) are stored in local UserDefaults.

In-App Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not collect, store, or have access to any payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple’s StoreKit framework.

Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks.

File System Access

The App requires read-only access to your home directory to index file names and metadata. The App:

  • Only reads file metadata (name, size, modification date, path)
  • Does NOT read or access file contents
  • Does NOT modify, move, or delete any files
  • Does NOT transmit any file information over the network
  • Operates within macOS App Sandbox restrictions

Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. All data remains on your device.

Data Retention

All locally stored data can be removed by uninstalling the App. macOS will automatically clean up the App’s sandboxed container upon uninstallation.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
